Four foreign nationals among 6 people arrested for cable theft and tampering with essential infrastructure.

The Tshwane Metro Police Cable Theft Unit members arrested 6 people for cable theft and tampering with essential infrastructure.

Four foreign nationals, Three Zimbabweans and one Mozambican were arrested in the Centurion area. One was found running away from the crime scene where he stole a cable that supply street lights in Nelmaphius and R21. He was also charged with common robbery and assault, he assaulted a security guard and robbed him off his cell phone.

The other three were apprehended when they were attempting to steal a cable

A South African white male and black female suspects were also arrested in the Hercules area, they were found with stolen copper cables that they were transporting to a scrap yard., value of copper cables recovered has an estimated street value of close to R100 000
