SAPS Diepsloot members arrest three suspects and recover unlicensed firearms with ammunition during two separate incidents

Members of SAPS Diepsloot arrested three suspects, aged between 21 and 32, last night, 13 April 2022, in two separate incidents for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

In the first incident, the police were out conducting crime prevention patrols when they received a community tip-off. The members proceeded to the address and upon their arrival, they found two men inside the house. A search was conducted which led to the recovery of an unlicensed firearm loaded with ammunition.

In the second incident, a 32-year-old suspect was arrested in Diepsloot Ext 01 after an unlicensed firearm was found inside his vehicle during a Stop-and-Search operation in the area

The firearms will be subjected to ballistic tests to determine any linkages to other serious crimes committed.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Randburg Magistrates’ Court soon.
