Two brothers were assaulted during a robbery at their block manufacturing business in an area popularly known as Chubbies Garage in Verulam – KZN.

The siblings were locked in an office after robbers made off with a substantial amount of cash, cellphones, an Acer laptop, a Digital Video Recorder (DVR), and a silver Toyota Corolla Professional with registration NJ 31124. One of the victims contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) while locked in the office.

All available Reaction Officers were dispatched to the premises and on arrival met with a male in the yard. He identified himself as a customer. Officers called out to the victims who were heard screaming from inside a building.
The security gate was locked by the robbers prior to their fleeing. With the use of a bolt cutter, RUSA Members cut the lock and entered the premises. A Reaction Officer then broke the door leading into the office and freed the victims.

All four suspects produced firearms and forced them into the office where they robbed them of their valuables. They were also assaulted.
