Drug dealing suspects arrested in Douglasdale, north of Johannesburg

Two suspects aged 41 and 45 were arrested in Douglasdale, north of Johannesburg after they were found with drugs worth millions of rands. The suspects are expected to appear before Randburg Magistrates’ Court in due course, facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.

Police officers attached to Douglasdale Police Station were on routine patrol when they noticed a suspicious looking car with two occupants.

The car was stopped. As they were searching, police found more than eight bricks of uncut cocaine. Both suspects were arrested and charged with possession and dealing drugs.

Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela applauded the police officers who remained focused and vigilant as they conducted patrols. “Our members did a sterling job by arresting these suspects as dealing in drugs is one of the crimes that we are seeking to minimize in our province. I am pleased that we arrested suspects that might be the suppliers to other dealers operating in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg” said Lieutenant General Mawela.
