A man estimated to be in his early fifties (50) was killed after he was allegedly stabbed by suspects fleeing a home invasion in an area popularly known as Chubbies Garage in Verulam – KZN.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the scene after a resident located the unresponsive male in a pathway. Reaction Officers and RUSA Medics were immediately dispatched. Medics examined the male and discovered that he was fatally injured after he was stabbed once in the back.
The deceased’s neighbor informed Reaction Officers that he was accosted by four suspects who forced their way into his residence. They were armed with firearms and knives. They stole his TV, cellphone, and other household items before they left. Moments later, the victim exited his residence to seek assistance when he located his neighbor lying on the pathway.
It is believed that the deceased were stabbed by the robbers as they were making their getaway.
