Arrest of two suspects in different premises in Atteridgeville for possession of illegal firearms

The Tshwane Metro Police Tactical unit members together with crime intelligence has on Sunday 19 June 2022 conducted an operation in Atteridgeville in search of criminals who are in possession of illegal firearms.

The operation led to the arrest of two suspects in different premises in Atteridgeville. The first premises that was searched one firearm with ammunition was found and one suspect arrested.

On the second premises where one more suspect was arrested, one firearm with ammunition and an airgun was recovered.

The two suspects arrested are also linked with other crimes including murder where these firearms might have been used.

The firearms recovered are suspected to be property of Tshwane Metro Police and SAPS. Further investigations will be conducted.
