The Police have launched a manhunt to trace a group of armed suspects in connection with a copper cable that was robbed in the offices of Eskom at Blenheim Avenue in Riebeeckstad on Friday, 27 May 2022 at approximately 22:10.
The Security Officer alleged that he was at his workplace busy with routine foot patrols around the premises when he and his colleague were accosted by a group of armed men.
The security officer was tied with wires and forced inside the storeroom. They later managed to untie themselves and sought help and Welkom Police attended the scene. A case of Business Robbery was registered for further investigation.
