A 29 year old female pedestrian was seriously injured after she was run over on the R102 in the vicinity of Canelands – KZN last night (Friday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene at approximately 20:38 by a passerby. On arrival it was established that the female attempted to run across the road when she was struck by a white VW Polo. According to the driver, he was travelling to King Shaka International Airport to return a hired vehicle when the accident occurred. He was not injured.
The pedestrian was treated for her injuries before being transported to hospital by a private ambulance service.
