A security guard has been seriously injured after falling through a roof at business premises on Bluff Road near the Caltex Garage just after 06h30 on Wednesday morning.
ALS Paramedics Medical Services arrived on the scene and had difficulty trying to gain access to the patient. It is believed that the man in his fifties was working as a security guard and was trying to apprehend a suspect when he fell through the roof while giving chase.
The man had sustained serious injuries and was stabilized on the scene by
Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being rushed through to a nearby Durban hospital for the further treatment that he required.
At this stage the events leading up to the incident are unknown however SAPS and Metro Police were on the scene and will be investigating further.
