Five people arrested for tampering with essential infrastructure

Five people were arrested by the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) Cable Theft Unit team over the weekend. Two were found vandalising Daspoort Substation and were arrested for malicious damage to property, tampering with essential infrastructure and trespassing.

In Pretoria West, two people were arrested for illegal electricity connection and were charged with possession of suspected stolen cables.

One more suspect was arrested for damaging and tampering with essential infrastructure, illegal connection and resisting arrest.

Well done to the team! The TMPD will continue to fight the plague of cable theft.
