Intelligence operation results in the apprehension of a suspect with unlicensed ammunition

On Tuesday, 19 July 2022, police members of Operation Lockdown led an intelligence-driven operation in Botrivier.

The police members operationalised the information and tactically approached the identified address. During the search of the entire premises, they confiscated a consignment of different caliber ammunition. A 40-year-old man was arrested and detained on a charge of possession of unlicensed ammunition as he was not in possession of a valid license to possess the mentioned ammunition.

Once charged, the suspect is expected to make a court appearance in the Hermanus Magistrate court on the mentioned charge.
