Pedestrian shot by fleeing robbers in Vanrova

A 27-year-old man was shot multiple times by three suspects who were fleeing the scene of a robbery in Vanrova – KZN.

The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Center received a call for assistance from a resident requesting assistance for an injured male. On arrival, RUSA Medics found the victim bleeding extensively from three gunshot wounds.

It was established that the robbers held up a tuck shop in the area. The stolen cash and a Flash airtime & data machine. They fired three shots as they fled from the business. The victim confronted the men and allegedly questioned them with regard to discharging their weapons. The robbers then fired five shots in his direction. He was shot in both his legs and his buttocks.

The man fled to a nearby block of flats where he sought assistance. Several spent 9mm cartridges were recovered.

He was treated for his injuries before being transported to the hospital by ambulance.
