Continued efforts to rid our community of firearms saw the arrest of a 38-year-old male for the possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition on Wednesday morning at about 07:10 in Ottery.
Members of Grassy Park police were busy with foot patrols in Edward Road, Ottery when they searched an informal dwelling on an open field. While searching the male the members found a 9mm browning pistol without a serial number and ammunition in his possession. The suspect was arrested and detained.
The suspect is due to make a court appearance in the Wynberg Magistrates court on Friday 15 July 2022.
