Taxi collision leaves 24 people injured in Clairmont

A collision on Dumisane Makhaye near 1st Avenue in Clairmont involving two taxis has left Twenty-four people injured various injuries this morning.

Redline Response Paramedics along with multiple other services received multiple calls for the collision. When paramedics arrived on the scene, they found total carnage on the scene. Two taxis had collided with one taxi lying on its side. Paramedics found multiple patients lying on the road and still inside both vehicles.

Paramedics assessed the patients and treated over twenty-four people for minor to serious injuries. Some patients required intermediate to advanced life support intervention. All patients were stabilised on the scene and transported to various hospitals in the greater Durban area for further medical care.

The circumstances around the collision are unclear but the necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the incident further. Traffic was severely affected and would cause delays this morning.
