Fidelity SIU team recovered a hijacked vehicle and firearm in Mthonjaneni, King Cetshwayo Empangeni over the weekend.
A Hyundai H-1 was hijacked by an undisclosed number of suspects seen in an H100 bakkie. The team received information about the incident and upon approaching the perpetrators, the suspects crashed the vehicle.
One of the suspects ran into the bush and the other suspects fled the scene.
The team immediately regrouped at the hijacked vehicle and also recovered a 9mm pistol from the suspect that was driving the bakkie.
