Teenager Witnesses Dad’s Murder: Amaoti – KZN

A 44-year-old Malawian national was shot and killed in the presence of his teenage son in Emasayithini, Amaoti – KZN this afternoon (Saturday).

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to Rambo Khoza Road at approximately 19:57 by a member of the public reporting the shooting. Reaction Officers and RUSA

Medics were immediately dispatched to the location provided and on arrival found the Verulam SAPS in attendance. Medics examined the victim and found that he was fatally injured. He had sustained gun shot wounds to his back, chest and leg.

The deceased’s son who is estimated to be between 15 & 17 years old informed RUSA Members that four (4) suspects opened fire on him and his dad without warning. He managed to flee however his father was gunned down. The deceased’s personal firearm was stolen by the suspects who fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Several spent 9mm cartridges were recovered on scene.
