Two people were killed and one individual was injured after they were shot during a hijacking in Vanrova New Flats, Tongaat – KZN this morning (Sunday)
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene at approximately 01:38. Reaction Officers and RUSA Medics were immediately dispatched to the location provided and on arrival located a large crowd on the property. The lifeless body of a twenty-eight (28) year old man was discovered on the side of the road. He sustained a single gun shot wound to his head.
According to members of the public, the deceased and his two friends had been consuming alcohol outside their residence. Two suspects approached them and without warning fired a volley of shots in their direction. The deceased fled towards the road when he was shot in the head. He collapsed on the side of the road. The other two victims also sustained gun shot wounds and were transported privately to a medical facility prior to the arrival of First Responders. A second victim died in hospital while the condition of the third person is unknown at this stage.
A white VW Polo with registration NJ 71596 belonging to the victim was also stolen by the suspects.
