Three cases of beer was stolen from a bakkie that stopped at a red robot on the R102 in Verulam – KZN this afternoon (Saturday).
A passerby contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at approximately 14:02 after he witnessed three men approach the stationary vehicle and steal the alcohol. While responding to the complainant, Reaction Officers spotted one of the thieves exiting a bush on Todd Street. An Officer abandoned his response vehicle and pursued the suspect on foot on the north bound lane of the R102. During the chase, the suspect dropped the stolen beer and fled into the bus rank when the RUSA Member lost site of him.
Backup Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspect however no arrests were made.
