A female was arrested (picture 1) after she was found in possession of Nokia cellphones that was taken during a robbery.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa & the Verulam SAPS confronted the female on Ireland Street in the Verulam CBD after a 16 year old robbery suspect pointed her out as the person that had purchased the stolen cellphones. Initially the 24 year old Waterloo – KZN resident denied being in possession of the stolen items. She later removed it from her handbag and handed it over to Officers after the suspect in custody insisted that it was in her possession. The female confirmed that she paid the suspect R450.
She was placed under arrest and transported to the Verulam SAPS for further questioning.
Several other stolen mobile phones were found on her possession.
