The public is requested to be on high alert after several cases of pickpocketing incidents were reported this week.
The suspect (pictured) is confirmed to be part of a syndicate that target unsuspecting individuals and rob them of their cellphones. Their modus operandi is to strike up a conversation with their targets during which they will touch or hug them before leaving. The victims later realise that their cellphones have been stolen.
Reaction Officers were called out to several supermarkets in Phoenix – KZN after victims fell prey to the pickpocket. CCTV footage from one of the stores shows the suspect fleeing in a silver Toyota Etios with registration NJ 97925.
