Several injured in a taxi collision on the N11, 6kms outside Ladysmith

A collision between three fully loaded minibus taxis on the N11, 6kms outside Ladysmith this evening, has left one man in a critical condition and many others with minor injuries.

ER24 paramedics were on the scene at 18:17 along with the Fire and Traffic Departments, Ladysmith SAPS, as well as KZN EMS and another private EMS service. A 34-year-old male was found entrapped in one of the taxis, having suffered critical injuries. All services on the scene banded together with the Fire Department to help extract the patient who was then transported through to Ladysmith Provincial Hospital for further care. A man in his 20s was treated and transported to hospital by KZN EMS for minor injuries. The KZN Emergency Medical Services also assessed in excess of 30 other passengers on the scene for minor injuries. All other patients declined transportation to hospital.

As stated the South African Police Services were on the scene for further investigations. Our Ladysmith crews would just like to say thanks to all the services for their help on scene.
