The public is requested to be on the lookout for a white VW Polo sedan with registration NJ 55361 that was stolen during a robbery at a butchery/shisanyma outlet on Hazelmere Drive in Redcliffe – KZN.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the business premises at approximately 18:07 after receiving reports of a shot being fired. On arrival, Reaction Officers were informed that staff were in the process of locking up when two suspects forced their way into the store.
The robbers stole cash from the till and two cellphones from the victims. They assaulted the manager and demanded the keys to his vehicle. The suspects fired a single shot before they exited the premises. They drove off in the manager’s car and were followed by an unknown vehicle believed to be their accomplice.
It was confirmed that the spent cartridge (main picture) belonged to a blank/replica firearm. One person was treated for minor injuries.
