Elderly Female Bound & Gagged During House Break-In: Trenance Park – KZN

A 73-year-old female was attacked after she returned from visiting a neighbour and discovered a burglar stealing goods from her home on Aspen Link in Trenance Park – KZN today (Monday).

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived at the property at approximately 11:39 after receiving reports of the incident. On arrival, the woman informed Reaction Officers that she was attacked by the suspect as she entered her home. He gagged her with a piece of material before he wrapped her in a blanket (picture 2) and attempted to choke her. The elderly female screamed for assistance when her attacker fled empty-handed.

Upon inspection of the home, it was established that he gained entry into the house through a window. The burglar is known to the victim and other residents in the area. He is a habitual criminal and a known drug addict.

Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspect however no arrests were made.
