The body of a hijacked victim was discovered in a ditch on Jabu Ngcobo Road in the vicinity of Tea Estate, Inanda- KZN earlier today (Wednesday).
The Verulam SAPS contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) requesting a Declaration Of Death. RUSA medics were dispatched to the scene and on arrival discovered the body of a man lying in a ditch next to the road. Upon examination, a shoelace was found wrapped around his neck.
He is presumed to have been strangled. He also sustained a penetrating wound to his right arm.
It was alleged that the deceased and his friend were hijacked for a black Toyota Tazz (registration unknown) in Amoutana – KZN yesterday (Tuesday). The deceased’s friend was locked in the boot of the car but managed to escape at the same stage. The victim could not be located thereafter.
His lifeless body was discovered during a search.
