Seven Year Old Killed/Driver Flees Scene: Nqwayini – KZN

A seven year old girl was killed after she was run over on the P714 in Nqwayini – KZN this afternoon (Monday).

Residents contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at approximately 14:36 after they witnessed a yellow Renault Kwid (registration unknown) veer off the road and run over the grade 1 leaner while she was walking on the pavement. The driver sped off without stopping to render assistance.

On arrival, RUSA Medics located the female lying on the road. On examination, she was found to have sustained life threatening injuries which resulted in her demise.

The deceased was a pupil at Makheni Primary School.
