VRMED responded on Saturday night to reports of a shooting on John Knox street in Parkwest, Bloemfontein. Upon arrival, VRMED found a 23-year-old male with a gunshot wound lying in the street. According to the information the gentleman was walking with a companion to their residence when an unknown man attempted to rob them at gunpoint.
The patient was stabilized on scene by VRMED and Netcare911 advanced care paramedics before being transported to Bloemfontein Mediclinic in a critical condition. Sadly the patient succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The incident is being investigated by Parkweg SAPS.
