Three boys suffer gunshot wounds in Strand, Cape Town

Three boys have suffered serious to critical gunshot wounds in a shooting incident in the Strand, Cape Town, on Sunday evening.

ER24 paramedics were called to the Strand Fire Department at 19:10 where two of the boys had been dropped off. An 11-year-old boy had been critically wounded by a gunshot to the abdomen. He was treated with Advanced Life Support interventions and transported to hospital for further care. A 14-year-old male was found to have been seriously injured, also by a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was treated and transported by another private service to hospital for further care. A third boy of unknown age, who had also suffered a critical gunshot wound, was transported to hospital privately. Both ambulances were escorted by Metro Police.

The details surrounding this incident are unknown to ER24, however, the South African Police Services were on the scene for further investigations.
