Last night, Medi Response search and rescue units responded to the M4 near Virginia off-ramp, for reports of a serious collision.
Upon arrival of units, it was established that a light motor vehicle had left the roadway and collided with a tree, causing two persons to become severely entrapped in the vehicle.
Paramedics and rescue crews worked to extricate the severally entrapped persons from the wreckage, using the jaws of life.
Both patients were in a critical condition and were stabilised on scene before being transported through to a nearby medical facility.
