Thousands of bikers expected in Polokwane for Sapa Yopa Rally
The 12th annual Sapa Yopa Rally will kick off with a masquerade Gala Dinner at Sun Meropa Casino and Entertainment World.On Sunday (December 4), bikers will gather at Waterland for the official after-party.
Sapa Yopa Club President Tebogo ‘DJ Cappucino’ Maswanganyi told the Polokwane Review-Observer that the gala dinner is about engaging with stakeholders and opening the massive weekend ahead.
“The theme of the gala dinner is a masquerade ball and will be classy as always. The Mayor of Polokwane John Mpe and the MEC for Sport, Arts, and Culture Nakedi Sibanda-Kekana will welcome bikers,” he said.
Maswanganyi said they are expecting droves of bikers as always and he expects a good turnout.
“We are also challenging investors, people who love biking to build race tracks that can be utilized for, hence our theme ‘Motor GP’. We are going to have a workshop on safety riding hosted by professtional bikers Morongoa 83 and Sfiso 63 and we have King Donut who is going to give a lecture on safety,” he said.
He pleaded with motorists and bikers to be cautious. “Motorists should look out for bikers and vice versa. We are urging that everyone should be vigilant on the road this weekend,” he said.
