Four drug dealing suspects arrested during intelligence driven “Take Down Operation”

The concerted efforts of the South African Police Service in Limpopo to deal with illicit drugs, targeting suppliers and distributors, led to the apprehension of four suspects during intelligence driven “Take Down Operation” that was conducted on Wednesday, 21 December 2022 at about 03:00.

Members of the Provincial Organized Crime Investigation and Crime Intelligence had their radar firmly focused on the four suspects after receiving information about individuals who were dealing in illicit drugs around Polokwane, Westenburg, Seshego and Nirvana.

The information was operationalized which led the members to different identified addresses in Westenburg policing area where the suspects were arrested.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has commended the members for their meticulous investigations that led to the identity of individuals involved in the supply and distribution of illicit drugs.

“These arrests will go a long way in ridding this Province of the scourge of crime. We commend the members for fruitfully utilizing the information provided. We also commend community members for continuously assisting the Police in the fight against crime” concluded Lieutenant General Hadebe.

The suspects, aged between 24 and 32, will appear in Polokwane magistrate court on Thursday, 22 December 2022, facing charges of dealing in illicit drugs.
