Stolen vehicle recovered

Partnership between SAPS and Security companies in Standerton yields positive results as the Volvo Station Wagon that was reported stolen in Elsburg, Gauteng, in August last year (2022) was recovered on Wednesday 18 January 2023.

According to information received, APN security’s Sniper camera identified the vehicle that was sought on the R23 Standerton/ Johannesburg road enroute to Standerton.

The security’s armed response team was dispatched and managed to pull over the vehicle at one of the filling stations in Standerton CBD.

It is alleged that two suspects jumped out of the vehicle and fled the scene trying to evade arrest.

The suspects’ efforts was fruitless as the security personnel gave chase and cornered them immediately.

Police responded quickly and effected an arrest on the scene hence the vehicle was also confiscated.

The strong partnership that involves the SAPS, APN and Kasselman security is always determined to bring crime to zero in Standerton.

Further investigation will be conducted to establish if the suspects were not involved in other criminal activities.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela applauded the team work displayed by police and security companies in Standerton and added that by the working together crime will be brought in to its knees in the area.
