SAPS Mamelodi East in collaboration with Crime Intelligence arrested a 27-year-old suspect in Tjovitjo squatter camp on Friday, 10 February 2023 for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The members reportedly operationalised information they had obtained while conducting routine crime prevention duties and proceeded to the identified address.
Upon arrival at the said address, the members conducted a search which led to the recovery of two unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Mamelodi Magistrate’s Court soon.
