A 34-year-old man was arrested and house break-in implements were recovered in his possession in Mount Edgecombe – KZN.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received multiple complaints from residents in the area reporting house breaking-ins and theft from their yards. Reaction Officers obtained CCTV footage showing the thief entering several yards and stealing valuables.
A Reaction Officer was on patrol on Hillhead Drive this morning when he noticed a male behaving in a suspicious manner. The Officer stopped and observed the suspect. He referenced a video captured from a property in the area and confirmed that it was the same individual who was sought after. The person in the video wore the same clothing and takkies. The Officer called for assistance before he approached the individual.
The suspect was in possession of a backpack that contained housebreaking implements and drug paraphernalia. The RUSA Member linked the suspect to a theft on Umsimbithi Place in Mount Edgecombe on Friday morning.
The Canelands – KZN man was placed under arrest and detained at the Phoenix SAPS.
