A 29-year-old man believed to be a thief terrorizing the Benoni Van Ryn Deep vehicle impound was arrested for possession of suspected motor vehicle parts on Friday, 3 February 2023.
Following up on the case #EMPD officers visited the impound only to find a man fitting the description of the alleged thief. During the interrogation, the suspect confessed to being in possession of stolen items from the impound ranging from taillights, headlights, wheel caps, and various motor vehicle wiring mechanisms.
He further showed the officers the cut fence where he gained access to the property. The recovered items have an estimated value of R15 000.
