A 26 year old female was injured after she fell while fleeing a man attempting to rob her and her brother on Mitre Close in Umdloti Heights – KZN today (Monday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene at approximately 08:56 and discovered the emotional female bleeding excessively from a laceration above her left knee. She explained that she and her brother were unsuccessful in seeking employment when they decided to return to their Mhlasini – KZN residence. As they entered a short cut they were confronted by a lone suspect who demanded their valuables. The victim informed the suspect that she did not possess anything of value when he threatened to stab her. The siblings fled through the unpaved pathway when the female tripped and fell.
She was treated for injury on scene before being transported to hospital by ambulance.
