An informal home was extensively damaged after it caught alight in Mhlasini – KZN this morning (Wednesday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene at approximately 08:02. On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered residents removing household items from the home.
Officers and members of the public contained the blaze with buckets of water in an attempt to avoid the fire from spreading to neighbouring homes.
An illegal electricity connection (picture 3) is suspected to be the cause of the fire.
