Ford Motor Company appoints Salvador Caetano as new distributor – partner in Kenya and Uganda

Ford Motor Company is proud to announce the appointment of Salvador Caetano as the new distributor-partner, selling and servicing Ford vehicles in Kenya and Uganda, with operations to become effective on July 1st, 2023; this follows the end of the prior contract with CMC Motors.

“We are delighted to welcome, again, Salvador Caetano Group to the Ford family,” said Achraf El Boustani, Managing Director Northern and Sub-Saharan Africa at Ford Motor Company. “We are confident that this new step with Salvador Caetano offers the Ford brand a vital opportunity to gain market share in Kenya and Uganda. The Ford/Caetano partnership will continue to serve loyal customers through a range of products and services, offering both professionalism and satisfaction, as customer satisfaction is always our priority. Ford is committed to the Kenyan and Ugandan markets, and our team will work diligently with our new partner to fully serve our customers to the best possible standards.”

“This said, as we welcome our new partner, we also want to thank our former distributor, CMC Motors for being our valued partner in these markets since 2014 and contributing to the growth of Ford throughout these years.” he added.

While both Kenyan and Ugandan markets are very competitive, Achraf El Boustani underscores that Ford remains one of the best performing OEMs in the SUV and LCV segments. Next-generation Ranger, Raptor and Everest will launch in both markets later this year, with additional launches to follow in the coming years.

In addition to Kenya and Uganda, Salvador Caetano already represents Ford in Tunisia, Senegal, Angola, Gambia, Guinea Conakry, Mauritania, Liberia, and Cape Verde. And this new partnership reflects Ford’s intention to progressively grow market share and continue to serve the markets with world-class Ford products and services.

Salvador Caetano has demonstrated willingness to invest and exploit all available opportunities, as it strives to improve the Ford customer experience in both Kenya and Uganda. Ford Motor Company will ensure training and certification per company standards, and both partners will honor all existing warranty contracts and service agreements as applicable.

Gabriel Almeida, COO of Salvador Caetano, confirms: “We are thrilled to be appointed as Ford’s new distributor-partner in Kenya and Uganda. Salvador Caetano is looking forward to strengthening our long-term partnership with Ford on the African continent and remain committed to delivering some of the best vehicle ownership experiences to Ford customers. Our entire team is eager to begin serving our customers and offer Ford’s world-class products.”

Salvador Caetano is an international Group, present on three continents with over 75 years dedicated to the Automotive Industry. Ford and Salvador Caetano have been partners for over 30 years in West Africa. This partnership today is a logical continuation of a long history of collaboration to bring the best products and customer experience to African consumers.
