Part of a residence on Andra Drive in Sandfields – KZN was extensively damaged in a fire during the early parts of this morning (Sunday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene at approximately 01:46 and discovered the kitchen engulfed in flames. According to the homeowner, he and his wife were asleep when they heard a noise in the house. Upon investigation, he discovered the kitchen on fire. Firefighters arrived shortly thereafter and extinguished the blaze.
Circumstances leading up to the incident could not be confirmed.
