A 36-year-old pedestrian sustained moderate injuries after he was run over on the southbound lane of the R102 in the vicinity of Canelands – KZN today (Monday).
A passing motorist contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at approximately 10:04 requesting assistance at the scene. On arrival, RUSA Members discovered that the pedestrian had sustained an injury to his head. He allegedly consumed alcohol at a nearby tavern shortly before he fled across the R102 and was run over by a white VW Polo. The pedestrian was treated for his injuries on scene before being transported to hospital by ambulance.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
