33-Year-old Murder accused sentenced to life in prison

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the Police in Limpopo, Major General Jan Scheepers welcomes the life term imprisonment sentence meted out by Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court to a 33-year-old male who fatally stabbed a 27-year-old male patron at a tavern in Kubjana village in May 2017.

It was established by the Court that on 07 May 2017, Barry Senyolo had an argument with one of the patrons at a tavern in Kubjana village and fatally stabbed Karabo Sewape with a sharp object.

A case docket of murder was subsequently opened and assigned to Detective Warrant Officer Masilo Selowa, who commenced investigations that led to the arrest of Barry Senyolo a few days later.

He was charged with murder and ultimately found guilty by the Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court and sentenced to life imprisonment on Monday, 07 May 2023.
