JMPD K9 instructor and his dog rewarded for excellence

The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) Acting Chief of Police Angie Mokasi congratulates JMPD K9 Instructor Inspector Peter September, who together with his dogs Giyana and Loki participated at the Gauteng Provincial Dog Competition this past weekend.

Inspector September won accolades with Giyana his service dog who is turning 8 years old in July and is currently the National Champion in Substance Detection, and Loki the younger dog.

Inspector September and his dogs received the following awards;

Explosive Substance Detection: 2 gold
Narcotics Substance Detection: 1 gold and 1 bronze
Abalone Substance Detection: 1 gold and 1 silver
Micro Substance Detection: 1 gold and 1 silver
Control Search: 1 gold
Scent Discrimination: 1 gold

Acting Chief Mokasi thanks Inspector September for his valuable contribution to the organisation and his determination to achieve beyond the call of duty.
