The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre received a call for assistance at approximately 21:59. On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered the lifeless body of a male in the home. He had been shot multiple times in the body and head.
According to his spouse, they heard a knock on the door. A man identified himself as a Policeman and requested access into the home. The couple refused to open the door when the suspects forced their way into the residence. Three men confronted the couple and demanded cash. The male victim was shot multiple times after he explained that there was no money in the house. The robbers searched the rooms and discovered and undisclosed amount of cash. They thereafter fled on foot in an unknown direction.
The woman and child were not injured.
