MasterDrive celebrates a 24th anniversary

On 24 May 2023, MasterDrive made the most of the day by celebrating their 24th anniversary at the office with employees. The last 24 years were both times of great growth and experiences and challenges. Whichever scenario MasterDrive faced, it provided many moments for innovation and opportunities to serve clients better and build a stronger organisation each year.

The CEO of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, says the opportunity to be a vessel of change to road safety for 24 years was a privilege. “With each driver trained by MasterDrive we are helping that organisation ensure their drivers are safe on the roads and also reducing their costs. For MasterDrive, we are putting another person back on the road with an understanding of safe driving techniques that turn them into drivers committed to doing their part in creating safer roads.

“The last 24 years also provided many opportunities to connect with drivers and purveyors of road safety. In 2022 we introduced the Fleet Safety Awards to South Africa which had such a tremendous impact on drivers and organisations that we were approached by organisations to take the Awards to even greater heights this year. Thus, the Awards will grow more as we partner with different industries and headline partners to reward organisations for their efforts in road safety.”

The traditional symbol of a 24th anniversary is the opal. “This is particularly fitting for MasterDrive’s 24th anniversary because the opal itself stands for hope for the future. Our hope for the future is after 24 years in business is to continue bringing about a tangible reduction to the road fatalities on South African roads.

“We look forward to the next 24 years of providing driver to training to South Africa and Africa. With the major developments we make each year we know that we have plenty to look forward to as we continue growing and, consequently, bring change to driver safety across the continent,” says Herbert.
