A short while ago reports were received of a dog that had been hit by a car on the N2 near Tinley Manor and was still alive.
On arrival of IPSS Search and Rescue personnel, it was discovered that the dog had been hit on its hind end and was unable to walk.
Many thanks to Shaun from SAFE who arrived on the scene and has taken the dog to an emergency vet for further care.
The dog is a male brown medium-sized dog who appears to be in good condition.
He has been taken to a Westville vet to check for a chip and to receive urgent medical care.
