Burglar Nabbed With Stolen Goods: Tongaat – KZN

Two men linked to a burglary in Flamingo Heights – KZN were arrested this morning (Friday).

The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre received a call for assistance from the homeowner at approximately 07:09. The caller informed the Controller on duty that his residence on Sastri Circle was broken into during the course of last night. While travelling to his place of employment this morning, he spotted a man carrying a brown Adidas backpack which was stolen from his home. A pair of Puma takkies (picture 4) belonging to him was discovered in the bag.

Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched to assist the caller in Belvedere – KZN. On arrival, Officers interviewed the homeowner and the suspect. It was established that both men were known to each other. The suspect explained that the break-in was orchestrated by a mutual friend who is a car guard at the Verulam Testing Centre on Jabu Ngcobo Road. The suspect in custody was handed over to the Tongaat SAPS. Police requested assistance to apprehend his accomplice.

Reaction Officers proceeded to the Verulam Testing Station and located the second suspect in the car park. He was confronted and placed under arrest (picture 1 & 2). The man was confirmed to be a Heroin addict.

He was also detained at SAPS Tongaat.
