Department of Transport and Community and Community Safety conducts a Stray-animals and Road Safety Campaign at Mapela under Waterberg District municipality.
This campaign focuses much on rural livestock owners and the safety of their animals. The event was held at Mapela Tribal Authority hall in partnership with SAPS, Department of Agriculture, and Land Reform.
The programme empowered community members and small livestock owners on how to take care of their livestock and to make sure they stay off the roads in order to avoid causing accidents. The community was also educated about anti-stock theft measures, including livestock brand marking.
