An integrated police operation between Klapmuts SAPS, Flying Squad, Boland POP and the Boland Dog Unit to create a safe environment in their communities led to the arrest of a suspect for the possession of a homemade zip gun and ammunition on Thursday, 01 June 2023.
The members received information about a firearm at a premises in Buttercup Street, Klapmuts and searched the premises. Upon searching the premises they found a homemade zip gun with ammunition. Two adult males were arrested and detained.
They will appear in Paarl Magistrates court on Monday on charges of an imitation firearm and the illegal possession of ammunition.
In an unrelated matter members of the West Coast Rural Flying Squad arrested two males aged 37 and 47 on Thursday evening in Laaiplek for the possession rock lobsters. The members received information of a Toyota Hilux bakkie that is driving in the direction of Elands Bay with lobsters in the vehicle. The vehicle was stopped and searched and 1113 rock lobsters and 1044 undersize rock lobsters were confiscated.
The duo will appear in the Laaiplek Magistrates court on Monday.
