Helicopter Used To Locate Serious Accident Scene: Ogunjini – KZN

Seen in this video is an active rescue scene (16:44 Thursday) in Ogunjini – Kwazulu Natal.

The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Helicopter was called out to locate the scene of a serious accident in a rural area after several calls requesting immediate assistance was received by the Operations Center. Information received was that a child was run over by a truck and is in critical condition. Several callers then informed the Controller on Duty that the truck driver was entrapped in the wreckage that overturned down an embankment.

The RUSA Helicopter lifted off to located the scene several kilometres from the Osindisweni Government Hospital. The Pilot & Crew located the scene within four (4) minutes of getting airborne & directed Paramedics to the wreckage.

The child has been expedited to hospital in a critical condition. Rescue Technicians are currently attempting to free the entrapped driver.
