Soshanguve female and a Nigerian male arrested for the possession of and dealing with dagga and drugs

The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) Region 3 Sector 2 Crime Prevention Unit arrested a female aged 31 from Soshanguve and a Nigerian male aged 25 for possession of and dealing with dagga and drugs (crystal meth). Both suspects were arrested in Pretoria Central at around 13:20 on Wednesday, 5 July 2023.

Members of the TMPD Region 3 Sector 2 Crime Prevention Unit were patrolling in Pretoria Central when they noticed suspicious movements at one of the tables where a vendor was selling sweets in Johannes Ramokhoase and Lilian Ngoyi Street.

The TMPD members acted swiftly on their suspicion by searching the suspect and the area where he was conducting his business. During the search they discovered crystal meth in a plastic bag under the table.

In the same area not far from where the first suspect was arrested, a female from Soshanguve was also arrested for being in possession of and dealing with dagga.

The suspects are detained at the South African Police Service Pretoria Central Station. They are expected to appear in court soon.

The value of the dagga and crystal meth found in the possession of the suspects is yet to be confirmed.
