A 66 year old woman with her head partially decapitated was discovered on a pathway in Ncwazune in Ndwedwe – KZN.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for assistance from residents at 10:06. RUSA Members were immediately dispatched and on arrival were led down a pathway where the body of the Traditional Healer was discovered. She sustained a large deep laceration to the rear of her neck. It is believed that her attacker intended on decapitating her.
According to her family, she left her home yesterday afternoon to uplift water from a nearby river. They launched a search party this morning at approximately 05:00 after she failed to returned. During the search they discovered her body on the footpath leading to the river.
The motive for the murder has not been established.
